Lera Litvinova Gallery present: project THE CONNECTION IS BROKEN


The exhibition The connection is broken was opened in the art space Lera Litvinova Gallery. The exhibition is organized within the framework of the project "Residence". The leitmotif and the symbol of all the paintings presented from the new eponymous series are broken wire.

Olena Pronkina commented: «I chose this symbol because we are surrounded by wireless connections today. Disrupted wire is simultaneously a symbol of liberation from restrictions in communication and, at the same time, a certain emotional isolation of people, the lack of real communication.

Opening of the The connection is broken began with an interview with the artist and curators and went on in a friendly, warm atmosphere. The guests communicated with the artist, shared their impressions and enjoyed philosophical painting.

The connection is broken is the artist’s project-question in, an attempt to dialogue with the public where the «wire» is symbolic element. It reflects the interaction and quality of human communication in a modern society with its technical progress that is rapidly moving forward.

Olena Pronkina artworks are professional not only in terms of the transfer of the author's concept. It also includes a strong ideological component. The theme of the series The connection is broken is very relevant for modern society.

The curator of the project, director of Lera Litvinova Gallery Leonora Yanko commented: "9 months have passed since we decided to make this exhibition. Olena Pronkina is an artist who not only can speak deeply about her feelings and emotions, but also has a very vivid social communication with society».

​This year the works of this young conceptual artist were presented by the Lera Litvinova Gallery team at the prestigious Art Expo annual art fair held in New York, USA. Olena Pronkina has group and personal exhibitions in Kiev, Odessa, Ternopil, Kharkiv, as well as Caserti (Italy) and New York (USA). Her works are in private collections in Ukraine.

The exhibition is opened until November, 15.
